How to Control Bundle Prices on Collection Pages?
When you create a bundle with Bundly, you might notice a price displayed on collection pages that seems confusing. This article explains how bundle pricing works on collection pages and your options for managing it.
How Bundle Prices Work
Collection pages (and most product grids) display the price of the Shopify product. For bundles, Bundly creates a normal Shopify product to represent the bundle, and Shopify themes use that product's price when rendering collection tiles.
Because bundles can have different final totals depending on the options a customer selects, Bundly automatically sets the Shopify product price to the minimum possible price for that bundle (based on the lowest-priced valid combination). This price is mainly a placeholder so the product has a valid Shopify price anywhere Shopify requires one.
Important: This does not affect what the customer actually pays. The real bundle total is calculated from the selected components and shown on the bundle page and in the cart/checkout.
Option 1: Show "From" Before Prices (Recommended)
To avoid customer confusion, Bundly offers a Theme Enhancement feature that adds context to the displayed price:
- Navigate to Bundly enhancements embed in Theme Editor
- Enable the toggle for Show "From" before prices when the bundle price varies
- The price will now display as "From $XX.XX" on collection pages
This matches how Shopify themes typically display products with multiple variants and helps customers understand that the price varies based on their selections.

Option 2: Hide Bundle Prices on Collection Pages
If you prefer not to show any price on collection pages for bundles with variable pricing, you can hide the price completely:
- Navigate to Bundly enhancements embed in Theme Editor
- Enable the toggle for Hide prices for bundles when the bundle price varies
- Bundle prices will no longer appear on collection pages
This option works well if you want customers to click through to the bundle page to see pricing, similar to products that require customers to "Choose options" before seeing a price.
Why we do not recommend setting bundle products to $0.00
Some merchants try to set the bundle product price to $0.00 in Shopify Admin so the collection tile does not show a misleading value. In most cases, this is not recommended because $0.00 often looks like the product is free, which can confuse customers even more than a minimum price.
Also, Bundly will update the Shopify product price back to the minimum possible price, so manually setting $0.00 typically will not “stick” long-term.
Alternative: Using Shopify Flow to Set Custom Prices
If you need more control over the displayed price on collection pages, you can use Shopify Flow to automatically maintain a custom price. Bundly automatically creates a bundly.extra_data metafield on your bundle products where you can store your desired price.
How to Import the Shopify Flow Workflow
- Download the workflow file: Download the example workflow file here
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow
- Click Import in the top right
- Upload the downloaded .flow file
- Review the workflow settings and click Turn on workflow
How to Use the Workflow
- On your bundle product, add your desired price to the
bundly.extra_datametafield - The workflow will automatically monitor when bundle products are updated
- It will reset the price to the value stored in the metafield
This approach ensures your preferred price stays in place even when bundle components change.
